UX/UI Design Case Study : Urban Premium website revamp

My client — URBAN PREMIUM — is a Portfolio Management Company specializing in the structuring and managing of real estate investment funds. The company develops and manages a range of residential and commercial SCPIs, oriented towards city center real estate investment.

In other words, that’s where you go when you want to invest in real estate!

URBAN PREMIUM approached me with a project : the revamp of their website. They were already working with an agency for the development part, so my role was to advise them on the UX and UI revamp and lead the full conception of this revamp.

Urban Premium, city center real estate investment 🏢

Urban Premium didn’t want a long and “marketing” website, with lots of contents. They wanted me to be straightforward in my approach, give the user the information they need, with the right CTAs to get in touch / become a partner…

So my work began with a first creative meeting with the client. My goal was first to assess the needs and wishes, the imperatives of the revamp and especially, the targets I will be designing for. The first 2 hours meeting, led me to these elements :

The needs

  • Revamp for technical and security issues on the website

The wishes

  • Present a more modern graphic charter
  • Update the visual identity
  • Get inspiration from the “Urban Coeur Commerce” website (recently developed)

The imperatives

  • Show the buildings, they are the center of their value and expertise
  • Bring out the concept “in the heart of the city”
  • Visually differentiate their different SCPIs (color filter for example)
  • Better organize the homepage and better present content (news, delivery focus, etc.)
  • Finally, present their expertise and added value: they have many assets, they are present in more than 70 cities…

The targets :

  • associates that need thorough data about the SCPI they have invested in
  • the prospects in look for an investment in an SCPI
About the project : Urban premium’s revamp

Digging deeper into their needs, I realized that the change in the visual identity of the website, the hero banner and the homepage in general were essential to drive the users towards important information about their SCPIs.

The main changes the client expected on the homepage were :

  • drive the user towards the complete list of assets
  • enhance the news about the new SCPI (…)
  • demonstrate the expertise of Urban Premium (key data, new detailed pages about the group, presentation of a map with their assets…)

My ideas for the revamp 🧐

Urban Premium’s old website
  • Rethink the sitemap
  • Focus on visuals : big displays of beautiful views of the properties
  • Visual distinction for the different investment systems (Malraux, Pinel, Déficit foncier…)
  • Adding dynamism in the layout
  • Adding reassurance blocks to deliver the added value : French map of the assets, awards…

The Website

To conclude

It was a great new mission as a freelancer as I learnt a lot about real estate and I worked on a new kind of visual identity (versus what I did so far). Working with a “red” identity was also very challenging for me but I think I did a pretty good job, don’t you think ?

I am very pleased with the result and relationship I had with the client. I’m looking forward to seeing when it will be developed!

So stay tuned to see what’s coming next and feel free to comments my work 😀
